Description

A striking and highly detailed stick pin from the Edwardian period in the form of a golden eagle. Perched atop a sphere decorated with a band of leaf decoration the majestic bird has outstretched wings and is defined by piercing ruby eyes. A small lustrous pearl is suspended from the beak of the eagle by a polished ring ensuring it will move delicately with the wearer. The pin section has an intricate twisted central section to ensure it will grip perfectly when worn in a lapel or scarf. A highly symbolic animal that was popularly used in jewellery the eagle was known to represent nobility, strength, wisdom, courage and power.
